Anna Jarvis was born on 2nd May 1854, US is widely praised as being the mother of Mother's Day . She had given the idea of celebrating Mother's Day in honor of mothers and and motherhood in 1907. Nationally this day was recognised in 1914. She organised this day in the memory of her mother after she died in 1905. At the encouragement of her mother, Anna Jarvis attended college and awarded diploma at Mary Baldwin University. She had been a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of American civil war, and created Mother's Day Work Clubs to address public health issues. She was a great social worker and wonderful inspiration for all of us. She died on 24th November 1948, US.
